About Us

Second Harvest Food Bank is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to delivering nourishing food to people facing hunger in our community since 1981. Our mission is to alleviate hunger in Clark, Champaign, and Logan Counties by sourcing and distributing nutritious food to people in need, building community partnerships, and mobilizing the public to support hunger relief. Second Harvest Food Bank is one of only 12 food banks in Ohio and is a member of the Feeding America network of 200 food banks, the national organization committed to fighting hunger. Along with the 11 other food banks in the state, Second Harvest Food Bank forms the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, the largest charitable response to hunger in the state of Ohio.

Second Harvest is a clearing house that collects, stores, and distributes nearly 5 million pounds of food through direct service programs and 60 food relief partner agencies across its three-county service area. Those partners include school food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, churches, and other community organizations that directly serve all individuals at risk of hunger, including families, children, and seniors.
